We'll get hope with a little help from our friends

In which we are reminded that brilliant people are doing good work.

Sweetlightning recently lost an original member and good friend.

Roger was a brilliant scientist, worked on climate change before it was a “thing”, and through his work made the world a better place. More importantly, Roger was a good person, something we sometimes forget about in the midst of our daily turmoil.

Rather than try to define what “good person” means, we are going to leave it and postulate that everyone knows one when they meet one.

In this spirit, we would like to recognize some people who are doing good work in the midst of the surrounding frenzy of our current moment. These are people who are working to preserve the data and scientific research that are at risk of being lost at the moment in America.

They are copying and moving databases, web pages, research documents, and experiments to safe places so they are preserved. Below are links to some of these organizations, some of whom are looking for help and volunteers if you are able and inclined.

Whenever we encounter good people doing good things in our journey, it gives us hope.

Also, in memory of Rog, we are going to work on smiling a bit more.
